We are seeking a responsible Assistant Manager to help manage our 24-hour gym and fill in for the Gym Manager when needed. Your job will be highly important in delivering on our value proposition and ensuring the sales team meets its goals.

Assistant Manager responsibilities include training and monitoring associates, monitoring Lead Traffic and assisting the Manager in attainment of our Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). You will run the Gym when the Manager is not onsite.

Our ideal candidate will have outstanding interpersonal and sales skills with a sharp business mindset. You should also be skilled at organizing work, solving problems and following work processes. Interpersonal and mediation skills will also be very useful, since you’ll often be acting as a liaison between managers, employees and members.

Ultimately, the duties of the Assistant Manager are to retain and grow our customer base, ensure compliance with our policies and procedures and deliver on being the cleanest and friendliest gym in the area. 

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Gym Manager in analyzing reports and developing strategy to improve on results as needed
  • Coordinate daily customer sales and service operations (e.g. sales processes, orders and payments)
  • Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
  • Monitor Associate performance and intervene as needed
  • Supervise and motivate team to perform their best
  • Coach and support new Sales Associates
  • Monitor operating costs, budgets and resources
  • Suggest sales training needs and process improvements
  • Handle complaints from members
  • Analyze and interpret data, like revenues and conversion data
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure the gym is functionable and presentable
  • Make sure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
  • Act as our Gym representative and set an example for our staff
 

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience in customer-facing sales and service position
  • Experience with mentoring co-workers
  • Familiarity with financial and customer service principles
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to analyze reports, spreadsheets and statistics
  • Leadership and organizational abilities
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • Flexibility to work various shifts
  • Passion for people, health and fitness
